A-3 Summer Enrichment Program Week 2 Highlights

We had another exciting week in A-3! A special thanks to Ms. Riggas for working with Ms. Wuest's students & Justine for continuing to assist in all our classes. Mr. Graham's students learned about the laws of motion and forces, probability, and engineering design, and then applied these principles to design their own catapult. Multiple firings of the catapult gave students practice with data analysis, with the goal of improving the catapult's accuracy. Ms. Wuest's students explored the awesome world of chemistry and learned about the scientific method by engaging in fun experiments and activities such as making "gak" and play dough. Ms. Pogue's students explored perspective “the manner in which things appear to the eye with respect to their relative positions and distance.” They also enjoyed a fun day of using tin foil to create various creative pieces. Mr. Mills's students enjoyed a week of cinema study where students were asked to think critically about what they see in film, and to consider the filmmaking process and decisions made along the way.
