Our A3 Students have created an amazing collection of beautiful pieces to donate to The Hornell Humane Society in 2 weeks! Their work will be up for auction on Friday, April 17th at The Hornell Golf Club.
The mission of the Aligning Aspirations and Actions (A-3) Project is to ensure that all students are prepared for a full-range of secondary and post-secondary opportunities by providing sustained access to college and career exploration and preparatory activities that align students’ personal aspirations with age-appropriate action steps.

A3 Art For Animals
The mission of "A-3 Art for Animals" is to offer A-3 Students an opportunity to participate in a meaningful service project while raising awareness of an important cause in the local community.
This service project was presented by Katie Capadonia, A-3 Art
Educator, who would like to support The Hornell Humane Society by offering
students’ art to help an animal shelter in need. “A-3 Art For Animals” is a
service learning project that supports several program goals and
objectives.
Over the past month, A-3 Students, with the advisement of Ms.
Capadonia and Program Coordinator, Christine Postilli, have been brainstorming
fundraising ideas and developing a plan of action to support the Hornell Humane
Society.
The primary purpose of this project will be to broaden
students’ perspectives, engaging them as problem solvers working within a
global society. Students will also benefit by developing selling and marketing
skills, learning to work in teams, learning the value of community and charity,
and being challenged to be imaginative and think outside the box.
On Saturday, April 11th, A-3 Students will be visiting The Hornell Humane Society to present them with all donated artwork and any received donations. Students will also tour the facility and learn more about the organization.
On Friday, April 17th, The Hornell Area Humane Society is presenting their Annual Auction at The Hornell Golf Club beginning at 6:30 PM. The artwork donated by A-3 Students will be displayed and up for auction during this event.
At this time community members have the opportunity
to obtain artwork by either making a supply donation (i.e. dog food) or writing
a check payable directly to THE HORNELL HUMANE SOCIETY.
If you are interested in obtaining A-3 Artwork (which includes necklaces and coasters, too!) please contact Christine Postilli, A-3 Site Coordinator at 607-661-0311 or cpostilli@cgcsd.org.

LEGOS...
Who doesn't love legos? Mr. Graham is teaching our students about everything from gears, torque and friction. Every day students experience hands-on fun model building from concept to completion.
MUSIC...
Ms. McGuire plans creative, collaborative music enrichment activities for our students. These activities expose our students to fundamental skills and advanced concepts in music-theory, music appreciation, and performance.
