On May 3, twenty-two A3 students traveled to Alfred University to compete in an aerodynamics challenge against 4 other school
districts. The day started out with Dr. Pilgrim explaining what aerodynamics
meant, why it is important, and how it affects the student’s lives. After the
short introduction, students completed an introductory project before they
moved onto the final challenge of the day. The egg drop challenge was a very
interesting one to watch. Each group of 3 students were given only certain materials which they
had to use to create something that would protect an egg from being dropped at
different distances. Students were extremely excited to be their own engineers
and truly enjoyed being in a college classroom.
